After several years under construction, the new Dynamo Minsk Stadium was officially opened on 21 June 2018. During the opening ceremony, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said: “This stadium in Minsk marks a milestone for our country and for the entire sporting world. The date of the opening ceremony was not chosen at random – exactly one year from now, on 21 June 2019, the 2nd European Games will open in this arena.
Krona-Sport from Volgograd in Russia laid the turf on the stadium pitch. “We are very proud of the fact that we have used a professional turf grass mixture from DSV carefully selected to suit the climatic conditions”, said Waldemar Utte, Belarus area manager for Krona-Sport.
The Dynamo Stadium has already obtained approvals for the highest categories of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). And it surely deserves its rightful place on the long list of visitor attractions in Belarus and its capital city. The Dynamo National Olympic Stadium is the leading sports arena in Belarus and the national team’s home ground.
DSV Pro turf grass mixtures can be found on all major sports and football stadiums in Belarus. At the BATE stadium (UEFA league) for instance, only DSV Pro turf mixes are used for reseeding.
