Forage specialist Germinal has appointed former AHDB Grass and Forage Scientific Officer Bill Reilly as its Area Sales Manager covering the central and southern counties of England and Wales.

Reporting to Germinal GB National Agricultural Sales Manager Ben Wixey, Bill’s primary role will be to provide essential technical assistance to merchant customers in these regions, supporting the company’s extensive grass and forage crop ranges.  

Hailing from a farming background in Co. Meath, Ireland, Bill graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Animal and Crop Production before completing his Masters in Arable Crop Production at the University of Essex. He worked for the Department of Agriculture in Scotland before taking up his previous position with AHDB Beef & Lamb covering the whole of England.

“There is enormous potential for livestock farmers in Britain to build more sustainable businesses through better use of modern forages,” he says. “I believe Germinal is leading the way in the forage sector, in terms of its award–winning varieties, innovation and the diversity of ideas being brought to the market.
