The new facility is part of a long-term agreement among ScottsMiracle-Gro, Texas A&M AgriLife and the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. The general public is welcome to attend. In addition to the speaker portion of the program, the facility will be open for self-guided tours. Parking with bus transportation will be available at the Hildebrand Equine Complex next door in lot 126.

Dr. Richard White, Texas A&M AgriLife Research turfgrass management scientist, College Station, said the agreement and this new facility confirm ScottsMiracle-Gro support for programs that benefit the green industry and contribute to sustainable turf and landscape systems worldwide.

This newest building will provide lab and office space to support water quality and other research and educational activities, White said.

Adjacent to the new facility is a surface water runoff structure built specifically to look at issues associated with water conservation, irrigation scheduling and water quality preservation, variety plots for turf selection and management, pest management, nutrient management, and new technology and educational demonstrations.
