Deutsche Saatveredelung's Rossera and Valerio take 1st place In the new Dutch forage grass recommendation, Aanbevelende Rassenlijst 2017

Germany
January 17, 2017

In the new Dutch forage grass recommendation, Aanbevelende Rassenlijst 2017, ROSSERA is the best diploid late variety. It is characterised by excellent yield performance as both a cut and meadow grass. Furthermore, it demonstrates good rust resistance in combination with good lodging resistance. Rossera is also being marketed successfully in France and Germany.

Another breeding success is the late tetraploid perennial rye-grass VALERIO. It is in first place in the late ripening group in the variety recommendation of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der norddt. Landwirtschaftskammern (Working Group of the North Germany Chamber of Agriculture). This variety recommendation applies to the northern part of Germany (NRW, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein) and covers one of the largest and most important grassland areas in Germany. The main reason for this is the excellent yield performance with a DM yield of rel. 105 over all cuts and rel. 109 in the first cut. Furthermore, the variety has an ‘M’ for specific suitability for use in moorland sites, low susceptibility to rust and a lower tendency to winter kill.
