New app from Monsanto Australia puts grain pricing information in the hands of growers

Australia
January 6, 2017

Monsanto Australia has invested in a new app that puts the latest grain pricing information at the fingertips of farmers, empowering them to source the most competitive price for their grain, including GM canola, on-demand. Using data provided by LachStock Consulting, the Grain Gauge app provides daily updates on the best local prices on offer, with additional analysis of the best monthly and yearly site prices.

The app, available on both iOS and Android was developed by Monsanto in response to feedback from growers that it was difficult to have complete visibility over what grain traders were offering the best price at any point in time. This was an issue particularly for GM canola growers who were frustrated by premiums paid for non-GM canola with no easy or quick means to compare prices.

Grain Gauge is the first free app of its kind and provides pricing not just Monsanto traits, but for a wide range of crops, making grain marketing easy for farmers.

Download Grain Gauge free from the App store.
