CD Seeds, subsidiary of the Swiss group OMYA, acquired by a group headed by Frédéric Poujaud

October 15, 2016

CD SEEDS, subsidiary of the Swiss group OMYA, just sold its activity to the group headed by Frédéric Poujaud.

Already present in France and South America with companies like PANAM SEEDS, AGROFUN and SEMAMERIS, this independent family business is specialized in selection, production and marketing of corn, sunflower and soybeans seeds along with plant cover for soil conservation.

The group is already selling seeds in more than 20 countries. With this acquisition, the aim is to consolidate its presence in Western Europe, while affirming its desire to remain craft company oriented to genetic innovation.

Significant synergies will help strengthen a wider genetic offer through many agreements with other seed breeders, while pursuing specific breeding programs.
Facing the concentration that is currently going on in the seed sector, the group is offering a solid genetic alternative. It handles exclusive varieties and contract based distribution resulting on long-term partnerships.

In order to meet customer expectations, the CD SEEDS structure will remain untouched but the brand will change to ENERGY SEEDS.
