The National Sunflower Association’s Annual Summer Seminar will be held June 28-30 at the Ramada Hotel in Bismarck, ND. The annual meeting gives industry leaders and producers a chance to network and learn about what’s happening in the sunflower industry.
This year’s sessions include a panel discussion about sustainability as well as presentations about soil biology and how the PHO transformation relates to sunflower. Afternoon breakout sessions will include updates on Phomopsis research, high oleic breeding progress, and market outlooks to Canada and Mexico.
President and CEO of CHS Inc., Carl Casale, will be the keynote speaker during Wednesday’s noon luncheon. Casale will talk about the challenges facing the agriculture industry today and offer his insight. CHS, Inc. is a leading energy, grains, and food company and the nation’s largest member-owned cooperative.
“Sunflower is an important agricultural crop choice for producers in the northern plains of the Dakotas to the panhandle of Texas, this event brings together stakeholders from all across the US.” says John Sandbakken, NSA Executive Director. “We’ve got some great speakers and breakout sessions planned this year. This is our 34th annual Summer Seminar. It’s become a ‘can’t miss destination event’ for sunflower producers and industry leaders every year.”
Registration information and the agenda for the meeting are available on the NSA website.
