JanWillem Breukink, former CEO of seed enhancement company Incotec, was decorated today as Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau, for special merits for society and for the seed industry in particular. The decoration was presented by the Mayor of the city of Enkhuizen during an official reception organized to mark Breukink’s retirement from Incotec.
JanWillem Breukink is known for his enormous commitment to the seed industry. He served in several executive roles on committees within the major seed organizations, such as the European Seed Association and the International Seed Federation. At present he is chairman of the board of Seed Valley and has been part of the advisory team for the Dutch government’s Top Sector Horticulture and Propagation material since 2011. His continued efforts within the sector were commended at today’s event by several speakers
Mayor of the city of Enkhuizen: “JanWillem has always been a figurehead in the sector. He has an optimistic and inspirational view of the sector. A sector that contributes to finding solutions for the increasing need for food security worldwide.”
The reception today was organized to mark Breukink’s retirement from the advisory board of Incotec where he has served since leaving the company’s Board of Directors in March 2014. He played a crucial role in the development of Incotec and was CEO of the company since its establishment until he passed on that responsibility to his successor in March 2014
