Germinal strengthens GB team with appointment of experienced forage agronomist

United Kingdom
April 22, 2016

Forage specialist Germinal has strengthened its GB agricultural sales team with the appointment of grassland agronomist Daniel Loe as area manager for southern England.

Reporting to Germinal GB national agricultural sales manager Ben Wixey, Daniel’s primary role will be to provide essential technical assistance to the company’s merchant customers in support of its extensive and award–winning forage crop range.

Originally from Marlborough, New Zealand – where he managed his family’s 5,000 acre livestock and arable farm – Daniel moved to the UK in 2012 and has spent the last 3½ years working as a forage agronomist with Mole Valley Forage Services. FACTS and BASIS qualified, he brings a powerful combination of technical expertise and practical farming experience to his new role.

“I am a great believer in the potential for livestock farmers to make more from homegrown forage,” he said. “There is always a strong argument for maximising returns from forage, but in the current situation of volatile market prices it is an absolute necessity for a great many businesses. In my experience, there is a lot that can be done on farms to improve production and utilisation of forage and I look forward in my new role to helping Germinal boost the prospects for livestock farming.”

Daniel Loe lives with his young family in Cornwall and is contactable through Germinal GB’s Avonmouth office on 0117 982 3691.
