After the EU approval of the Arylex™  active ingredient in July 2015, Dow AgroSciences achieved a major milestone in Europe with the first commercial registration in Denmark of a mixture between Arylex active and fluroxypyr. The herbicide product will be marketed under the trade name of Pixxaro EC™ for spring use in cereals against broadleaved weeds. This registration gives Danish farmers the opportunity to reap the benefits of products containing the Arylex active in the 2016 season. Further approvals of products containing the Arylex active are anticipated across the entire EU & MEAF region in the coming months.

Stefano Turati, Global Regulatory Manager for the Arylex active, welcomed the news commented “the broad contribution across the regulatory organization to apply cutting edge science to bring this new and innovative solution to the market in record time, is the envy of our industry. This is great news for Dow AgroSciences as we lay the foundations to commercialise products from our rich R&D pipeline in the EU”.

François Lucas, Global Project Leader for Arylex, said “Arylex is the first member of the arylpicolinates, a new structural class within HRAC’s Group O category. It represents the next generation of this unique mode of action. Arylex is effective at low rates in all weather conditions including cold weather and brings a new standard of efficacy against many broadleaved weeds, including poppy, cranesbill, chickweed, fat hen, cleavers, common hempnettle and others. It is an excellent tool to help prevent resistance. In 2015 many farmers have already adopted Arylex in Argentina, Australia, China and Canada.”
