How do you select your seed every year?

That is the question that we have discussed with farmers for several years. And answers understandably vary. It could be based on dealer recommendations, word-of-mouth from neighbors and friends or consultation with your seed representatives, to name a few. 

Those methods are all perfectly fine. But we at IntelliFarms felt that more data could be used to inform that very important decision. There are thousands and thousands of seed trials out there that you can find and review to help you make your decision, but to do so would be cumbersome and just not realistic. But what if there were a single place where that information could be found? 

This week we are proud to introduce IntelliFarms' newest technology, YieldFax. YieldFax is available within our IntelliFarms Portal, and is home to one of the world's most comprehensive seed trial databases for both corn and soybeans. It's designed to filter and display the trial data according to your geography and other needs, allowing you to have more informed conversations with your seed suppliers. 

An important thing to remember is that YieldFax is completedly unbiased - IntelliFarms does not care which seed you plant. The data in YieldFax is what you would find in seed catalogs and published university or third-party trials, just compiled to a central place to make it easier for you to explore.

YieldFax offers the following capabilities:

• Identify top-performing hybrids based on criteria important to you. The "Rank Hybrids" function allows you to filter results by a number of parameters, including soil type, pest resistance, relative maturity and your geographic area. Results will be ranked by performance.
• View detailed data from field trials. Go as deep into the data as you wish to view the results of trials in your area. See how certain varieties compare to others in specific trials. 
• Better understand how a specific variety performs in your area. If you have a particular variety you are interested in, the "Hybrid Trials" tool allows you to view the trials which included that variety in your area.  You'll have a better sense of whether the seed is an optimal variety based on your geography and needs.
