The Board of Barley Australia has completed an organisation review and membership has been expanded to include 5 new companies. Barley Australia is now more representative of the whole barley industry and is well placed to represent all stakeholders, providing direction and leadership for this major sector of the Australian grains industry.
The members of Barley Australia are able to nominate a Director to the Board and the new Board is now comprised of:

The Board has now endorsed a new purpose and industry role for the organisation as follows;
Barley Australia delivers leadership to increase the value and enhance the sustainability of the Australian barley industry.
We will achieve this by addressing the following key activities:
- Offering timely and credible barley industry-specific information.
- Managing the malting barley accreditation process.
- Providing stewardship for the barley classification system.
- Providing barley industry relevant communication and education
- Advising government and industry on barley related trade issues, and R&D investors and providers on barley industry research priorities.
Barley Australia will be active in representing, supporting and encouraging the barley industry at all levels within the Australian grains industry.
