New Zealand - Draft Zea mays schedule for IHS Importation of Seed for Sowing

MAF Biosecurity New Zealand has looked at additional measures required to add Japan as an approved country for the export of Zea mays seed for sowing.
Two additional fungal pathogens would be added to the pest list to allow for Japan-produced seed to be included in the schedule.
As part of the consultative process in the amendment of the import health standard for Zea mays seed for sowing, MAFBNZ has distributed the following draft document(s) for public consultation and comment:
Submissions on these draft documents should be forwarded to MAFBNZ by close of business on 18 June 2010. Depending on the results of consultation, it is anticipated that the new requirements will be introduced as soon as possible after consultation.
