Cibus, a leader in non-transgenic breeding and precision gene editing, provides innovative solutions to modern agricultural needs and global sustainability issues. In the coming months, Cibus executives will be featured among the industry’s foremost scientists and business leaders at the following events, where they will speak about the company’s non-transgenic plant breeding technology.
“These are some of the most prominent events in the industry, and they are an opportunity for Cibus leadership to share the company’s latest innovations while also contributing to the larger discussion of where the agricultural and biotech industries are headed,” said Peter Beetham, Ph.D., President & Chief Executive Officer, Cibus. “As a pioneer in non-transgenic breeding and precision gene editing, Cibus is mapping a new path forward, and we look forward to discussing our projects that are in the commercialization phase or late-stage development.”
Cibus representatives will participate at the following events:
2015 Canola Discovery Forum (October 27-29, 2015, Coast Canmore Hotel and Conference Centre, Canmore, Alberta): James Radtke, Ph.D., Vice President, Product Development at Cibus, will speak about the use of precision gene editing to develop new non-transgenic traits in canola. The Forum will also aim to identify research priorities and inspire collaborative efforts between academia and private sector companies to seek strategic opportunities to advance the growth and profitability of the canola industry.
Canola Expo 2015 (December 8, 2015, Langdon, ND): Cibus is a Platinum Sponsor of the Canola Expo and a Cibus representative will speak at the event. The Expo, presented by the Northern Canola Growers Association, will cover innovations in seed, harvesting, grain bins, insurance and the canola crop itself.
World Congress on Root & Tuber Crops (January 18-22, 2016, Mingyuan Xindu Hotel, Nanning, Guangxi, China): Greg Gocal, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Cibus, will speak at the congress, which represents a unique opportunity for exchanging expert and scientific advice on root and tuber crops, particularly for the global South. Dr. Gocal has spearheaded internal programs for Cibus and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
CRISPR Precision Gene Editing Congress (February 22-24, 2016, Boston, MA): Cibus is a Program Partner for the inaugural congress where Dr. Gocal will present. The purpose of the event is to discuss innovative paths to improving specificity, efficiency and delivery challenges associated with the CRISPR/Cas9 system. Speakers and attendees will discuss the expanding biomedical, therapeutic and agricultural potential of gene editing tools.
