New Zealand - Amendment to import health standard (IHS) 155.02.05: Importation of Seed for Sowing

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has issued an amendment to the import health standard (IHS) 155.02.05 Importation of Seed for Sowing under section 24A of the Biosecurity Act (1993). The IHS, dated 11 September 2015, replaces the earlier version of the standard dated 07 August 2015. The revised IHS can be downloaded here:

The following change have been incorporated in this amendment to the IHS:

  1. A minor amendment to the schedule for Zea Following the CTO direction related to the interception of maize seeds consignments from Chile and Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV), an updated list of the approved countries recognized by MPI endorsing "Pest free area" for SCMV have been presented as a guidance box in the Zea schedule. Only the countries listed in this guidance box are recognized by MPI to endorse the additional declaration "Pest free area" for Sugarcane mosaic virus.
