Pennington Seed, Inc. will host an International Seed Federation (ISF) field day for its international grass seed distributors on Thursday, May 27. A few of the companies expected to attend include international giants Feldsaaten Freudenberger, PGG Wrightson Seeds and RAGT.
The ISF Field Day will tour guests through Pennington’s NexGen Research station to learn more about new products and the technologies behind Extended Root (ER) and Disease Resistance (DR) breeding programs.
The Extended Root (ER) technology grows a larger and deeper root system which improves nutrient uptake and helps grass become more drought resistant. “In a world where water shortages are becoming the norm, many of our customers have a need for grass seed that leads to better utilization of soil moisture,” said David Holman, director of international sales for Pennington Seed. “The Pennington ER program creates products that use water more effectively, while maintaining excellent turf quality.”
Guests will also have the opportunity to see Pennington’s high efficiency shipping facility hard at work to provide top-notch quality control, ensuring that even the toughest export standards are met.
“We’re delighted to host an event that exhibits, first-hand, Pennington’s commitment to research, quality and customer service. I believe our guests will walk away with a new-found appreciation for our products and company,” said Holman.
