Leadership change at Bayer CropScience Inc. Canada - Long-time Canadian agriculture expert Al Driver takes the helm

Effective January 1st 2015, Kamel Beliazi, Bayer CropScience Inc., Canada President and CEO, will assume the role of Head of Region EMEA (Europe- Middle East – Africa) for Seeds, based in Lyon France, and will become a member of the global leadership team for Seeds and the management team of crop protection in Europe. He will be responsible for the seed business for Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Since 2009, Kamel has led the Canadian business as President and CEO and previously held a number of roles throughout his 24 years with the company through marketing and sales in Portugal, France and Germany, as well as country division head in Vietnam and Mexico. He graduated from the University of Montpellier in agronomy. Kamel has been actively engaged in the Canadian industry serving as Chair of the CropLife Canada board for the last two years, as well as board member of Cereals Canada.

Al Driver, Vice President Marketing and Business Development, has been named President and CEO of Bayer CropScience Inc. succeeding Kamel. In his new role, Al will report to Jim Blome, Region Head North America for Bayer CropScience, and will remain located in Calgary, Canada.

Al joined the company in 1985 as a sales representative in South Western Ontario. He has held various local and regional sales and marketing roles across Canada for the crop protection, seed and trait businesses. He was the Marketing and Sales Manager for Canada before being appointed to his current role as Vice President Marketing and Business Development Canada in 2009.  Al is a graduate from the University of Guelph and is actively engaged in the agriculture industry serving on the CropLife Chemistry Committee for the last 15 years.

The successor to Al Driver will be announced at a later date.
