Farmers Edge Hires New Consultant on Seed Inspection Business

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
August 1, 2013

Farmers Edge, provider of nutrient and agronomic management services today announced it has hired Terry Rempel to act as a consultant in their newly established Seed Inspection division. With the recent changes to the Seeds Act which is managed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Farmers Edge will be offering seed crop inspection services for the 2014 growing season. Terry will be working with Farmers Edge to implement the seed inspection business plan and operations.

Terry comes to Farmers Edge with many years of seed industry experience. Terry grew up on a seed farm west of Winnipeg, Manitoba and after completing his Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba took over the operation of Rempel Seed Service. This on-farm experience coupled with his ten years as a board member for Manitoba Seed Growers Association, including two years of experience as President, will make him key in the implementation of the program for Farmers Edge.

“I am excited to work with a progressive company such as Farmers Edge in offering the seed growers an excellent option for their seed inspection and agronomic service needs,” says Rempel.

Wade Barnes, CEO of Farmers edge added “Terry’s extensive seed industry experience will be a definite asset as we move forward in our offer to seed growers. We are excited to have him on our team and be able to offer our staff and customers this excellent resource.”
