Australia

Barry Cox has been appointed General Manager of COGGO Seeds.
Mr Cox has been involved in agribusiness for more than 30 years, working across much of the grain supply chain, including with the Grain Pool of WA, Davison Oils, SGB, Wesfarmers Dalgety SeedTech and Nugrain (Nuseed).
Although WA born, he recently spent four years in eastern Australia as General Manager of Nugrain. He has also held executive positions within the Australian Seed Federation.
Mr Cox plans to build on existing commercial relationships COGGO Seeds has with a number of industry participants and anticipates being able to provide WA growers with the rewards of COGGO's various research and development programs.
"We expect these programs will shortly deliver a range of new plant varieties to COGGO members particularly and grain growers generally," Mr Cox said.
COGGO CEO and COGGO Seeds Managing Director, Mark Tucek said that although COGGO membership provided growers with priority access to seed varieties, it did not guarantee access, so growers should place seed orders for this coming season very soon, Tel 1300 667 371.
"Importantly, when ordering seed through COGGO Seeds, 100 per cent of a grower's money stays within the company," Mr Tucek said.
Established in 1997 and now with about 2000 WA members, COGGO is a public company covering approximately half the state's grain growers, who voluntarily contribute 0.5 per cent of net farm-gate value of production for investment in plant breeding and associated research and development through COGGO.
COGGO, which owns COGGO Seeds, supports several WA grower groups and partners Grains Research and Development Corporation in Canola Breeders WA and also Australian Grain Technologies in WA wheat breeding venture, AGT-Western Australia.
