Latham Hi-Tech Seeds announces Ken Highness of Dilworth, Minn., has joined the company as a regional sales manager in Northwest Minnesota. Highness was raised in Dilworth, a small bedroom community in the Fargo-Morehead area.
“We couldn’t be more pleased than to welcome someone of Ken’s caliber to our team,” says Tom Lizer, Latham’s general manager. “He thinks like a businessman with an attitude of service. Because he has experience as a seed dealer, Ken knows what it’s like to be in his customer’s shoes.”
Highness has operated his own seed dealership for the past decade. When the seed company he was selling for was bought by a multinational conglomeration, he started looking at alternative brands and discovered Latham.
“I prefer to work with a family-owned company where you can go straight to the top for answers,” says Highness. “The Latham team impressed me because if they didn’t have an immediate answer to my question, they researched it and got back to me in a timely fashion. The Latham name is well respected for good reason, and I’m looking forward to helping build brand recognition in this area.”
Northern Minnesota is “new ground” for Latham Hi-Tech Seeds, agrees Lizer. Highness’ district is a good fit because it helps Latham narrow the gap between its current southern Minnesota territory and its North Dakota territory.
When Highness isn’t selling seed, you’ll likely find him spending time with his family or enjoying the great outdoors. As an avid hunter, Highness has raised Brittany Spaniels for 15 years. He enjoys hunting pheasants, as well as elk and deer.
