Early oilseed rape variety Avatar from LS Plant Breeding is off the field and into the barn already

“With its earliness of flowering taken with its early maturity, Avatar was one of the first oilseed rape crops harvested in the Cambridge area,” says Craig Padley of LS Plant Breeding Ltd (LSPB).
LSPB Avatar oilseed rape off the land early“A key attribute of HGCA recommended hybrid Avatar is its early flowering combined with its early maturity – the highest combination on the Recommended List. This season the combination has resulted in an early harvest with the combines out over the weekend at Chivers Farms Ltd, Impington, Cambridge.“Avatar’s yield also lived up to expectations, weighing in at 3.8-4.0 t/ha, and with the moisture content below 9%, it did not need drying.”
