Dear Friends of Organic Farming Research Foundation,
It is my very great pleasure to announce that OFRF’s board has completed a nationwide search and that Brise Tencer started work as our new Executive Director last Thursday!
Our board of directors was very committed to finding a leader who understands OFRF’s deep commitment to the success and well-being of organic farmers and who will not only engage with existing OFRF partners and collaborators, but forge new connections too. Brise brings strong personal relationships across all sectors of the organic community and 14 years of experience working on organic food policy, farming, and research issues. She is bright, dynamic, informed, and creative.
Brise most recently served as Policy and Programs Director for California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). Her professional career has also included work as a consultant on sustainable agriculture projects and policy work at the Union of Concerned Scientists.
From 2000 to 2006 Brise served as OFRF’s as legislative coordinator, helping initiate the Organic Agricultural Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Organic Farmers Action Network (OFAN), a grassroots political action network to support organic-friendly policies.
I believe Brise will do an outstanding job furthering OFRF’s work to foster the widespread adoption and improvement of organic farming systems. Under her leadership, OFRF will continue to promote research, policies, and connections that directly benefit organic farmers. I hope you will join the rest of the OFRF board and me in welcoming her.
Sincerely,
Meg Moynihan
Chair, OFRF Board of Directors
