Syngenta Seeds, Inc. has named Evan Uthof of Jackson, Neb. the 2009 Golden Harvest Seeds, Inc. Seedsmen of the Year. Uthof joined Golden Harvest five years ago and is now one of the highest-volume seed dealers across Golden Harvest.
The award was announced late last week at the 2009 Golden Harvest Seedsmen Conference held in Omaha. Uthof was selected as Seedsmen of the Year from nearly 2,000 Golden Harvest dealers from across the country.
Uthof was also recognized for exceptional increases in corn unit sales between 2008 and 2009. In 2009, he nearly doubled his overall sales revenue and increased his corn unit sales by 45 percent. He increased his soybean unit sales by 21 percent in 2009.
“Evan is a model dealer for Golden Harvest and Syngenta – he works closely with his customers, listens carefully to their needs and provides superior service and support all year long,” said Kevin Kimm, Golden Harvest Business Unit Head. “His farming know-how combined with our technology helps customers get the results they want, year-after-year.”
Uthof is looking to further increase sales in 2010. He believes in the future of Golden Harvest and Syngenta and uses 100 percent Golden Harvest seed and 100 percent Syngenta crop protection products on his farm.
“Being a part of Golden Harvest, we have a good family behind us with Syngenta,” Uthof said. “I will definitely be sticking with Golden Harvest and selling for them in the future. I think we can make this business grow and I want to be part of that.”
