Enza Zaden looks back on the Fruit Logistica fair with great satisfaction. We enjoyed good talks with various parties, among which were several international chain parties. And there was a lot of attention for the three segments ‘Global varieties’, ‘Hydroponics/Fresh cut’ and ‘Concepts’, on which we based the presentation of our innovative products and concepts.
Co-creation
The main theme of our booth this year was co-creation. “Combining the strengths of various chain parties is the future way of cooperating”, explains Maarten van den Heuvel, Marketing Manager at Enza Zaden. “Partnerships are crucial to make innovations successful in this dynamic and competitive market. As a worldwide operating seed company we have intensive knowledge about possibilities in genetics and variation in genetics worldwide. At the Fruit Logistica we presented the way we approach this topic and show some genetics that could shape the future. The Fruit Logistica is a perfect platform to discuss together with our partners about creating these new opportunities. Co-creation, that’s what it’s all about.”
Divers visitors
At the Fruit Logistica we welcomed a lot of visitors at our booth. Especially Thursday was a busy day. “As every year, there was great diversity in visitors. We were able to talk to a lot of our relations, but also made some new contacts”, says Chris Groot, Marketing Project Manager at Enza Zaden.
Groot continues: “The presentation about ‘Quantum leap in lettuce breeding’ at the future lab for example generated new leads in the global processing industry. In the booth segment "Global varieties" we indentified a growing interest in the Asian product range. The hydroponic segment was for the 4th year in a row a real eye catcher. But even more important, it proved that we have taken the right step years ago for breeding varieties for this segment. The concept corner, with the trade brands Tribelli and TomAzur, represented our innovation focus and our drive for more chain cooperation.”
