Independent Professional Seed Association announces officers for 2014

The Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA) began 2014 by setting several records during 25th Anniversary celebration and Annual Conference, held January 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch in St. Louis, MO. Record registrations of nearly 400 people helped celebrate the milestone event and enjoyed an outstanding set of speakers on a variety of relevant industry topics.
A key responsibility of Association members at the Annual Conference is to make elections to the IPSA Board of Directors and to select Association Officers for the coming year. Board members elected for three-year terms this year include:
- John Larimer, Partner’s Brand Seed, Howe, Indiana (re-elected to a second term)
- Shane Ohlde, Ohlde Seed Farms, Palmer, Kansas (re-elected to a second term)
- Randy Wilken, ProHarvest Seed, Ashkum, Illinois (re-elected to a second term)
Additionally, the following Officers were elected by the Board for the coming year:
- President - Lou Buice, Golden Acres Genetics, Waco, Texas
- First Vice President - Terry Schultz, Mustang Seeds, Madison, South Dakota (also Chair of the IPSA Business Development Committee)
- Second Vice President – Randy Wilken, ProHarvest Seed, Ashkum, Illinois
- Secretary -- Shane Ohlde, Ohlde Seed Farm, Palmer, Kansas (also Chair of IPSA's Education Committee)
- Treasurer – John Larimer, Partner’s Brand Seed, Howe, Indiana
- Chris Varner, DF Seeds, Dansville, MI was selected to serve as Chair of IPSA’s Member Services Committee for 2014
IPSA recognized Chuck Cornelius of Cornelius Seed in Bellevue, Iowa for his past year of service as the Association's President.
