At last night’s Canadian Agri-Marketing Association’s Best of CAMA 2013 awards, Bayer CropScience was recognized in 12 different categories for campaign excellence in broadcast, print and online marketing. One of the many award-winning campaigns included the 4-H Youth Ag-Summit which took place earlier this year in Calgary, and won the award for Web Design: Microsite/Promotional.
The 4-H Youth Ag Summit microsite was developed by MacLaren McCann, Bayer CropScience’s creative agency. MacLaren McCann partnered with Bayer CropScience to support this great program by providing all of its creative services, including the development of the microsite pro-bono.
“The goal of the 4-H Youth Ag-Summit was to bring together 118 youth from around the globe to share ideas and have an open dialogue about how to feed a hungry planet,” said Derrick Rozdeba, Manager, Marketing Communications for Bayer CropScience Canada. “As a science-based agricultural company, feeding our growing population is a topic we consider every day, and we were proud to work with 4-H to create the Summit and contribute to the solution.”
During the weeklong event, the youth delegates created and presented eight separate visions for how they would work towards feeding a hungry planet. In the end, one vision was selected with delegates choosing to focus on empowering and enabling women, as they are the world’s primary food producers responsible for producing nearly half the food consumed worldwide.
To assist in bringing this vision to life, the Youth Ag-Summit Committee was created consisting of delegates and mentors from around the world who are tasked with carrying on the momentum built at the 4-H Youth Ag-Summit.
