Veritas™, a new Plant Impact product which aids in soya pod setting and grain filling, has been demonstrated to lift yields of Brazilian soya by three 60kg bags per hectare, equivalent to an extra 5-6% on average market yields.
Efficacy data from replicated small plot trials over the last three years along with extensive large-scale grower demonstrations conducted last season have shown that Veritas™ consistently enhances yield under a variety of conditions and across Brazilian regions. The Company has also demonstrated the product’s physical and biological compatibility with a variety of widely-used soya insecticides and fungicides.
Increases in soya yield were confirmed by research specialists Plantec, who conducted 2012/13 studies in Paraná. “We tested Veritas™ over 1,000 hectares on large-scale commercial farms. In addition to an average of 2.9 bags/Ha of yield improvement, we observed improvements in pods per plant and increases in grain weight,” commented Alexandre Santos, Technical and Managing Director at Plantec.
The Company also conducted over 40 grower demonstrations in Goiás and Minas Gerais, where Veritas™ increased yields by an average of 3.5 bags/Ha vs. comparable untreated plots. Eduardo Aquino, Plant Impact’s Brasil Commercial Director explained, “We are delighted with such consistent technical performance showing economically meaningful yield improvements over a multi-year development program. Veritas is the result of our commitment to good science, and these data give us a strong platform to launch the product during the 2013/14 season.”
