Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
June 01, 2013
As a Strategic Partner of AUSVEG committed to a strong and profitable Vegetable Industry, Dow AgroSciences again attended the Ausveg Convention 2013 which was held at the Gold Coast in Queensland.
The convention attracted about 1100 delegates, the largest number ever to attend, and many of these visited the trade show on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Dow AgroSciences showcased our company with particular focus on Success Neo, our pre-eminent IPM compatible chewing insecticide, and the soon to be released sap feeding insecticide with a new Mode of Action, Transform.
The interactive Pest Blaster game, a particular “hit” with the trade show audience, was designed to educate, entertain and raise awareness of integrated pest management (IPM) with those who played it. Six of the attending growers and industry people won prizes such as iPads and gift vouchers for their prowess in destroying pests whilst protecting beneficials insects, a feature for which Success Neo is well regarded amongst those who use it in-crop.
Saturday afternoon was devoted to testing the risk-taking and endurance of young growers in the Australian Vegetable Industry as they ploughed their way around a go-kart track at breakneck speed! Congratulations to all those winners on the day you provided the rest of us with a lot to laugh at.
Last but by no means least, Saturday evening was devoted to the Gala Dinner where worthy recipients of the AUSVEG National Awards for Excellence were honoured. Our congratulations go to all those worthy winners and in particular to the Dow AgroSciences sponsored Young Grower of the Year Award recipient, West Australian Danny Trandos of Trandos Hydroponic Growers.
