Floragenex announces new genomic services lineup, launches value RAD genotyping package
Portland, Oregon, USA

Floragenex today announced the launch of a new, tiered system of genomic services to help better serve the expanding genotyping by sequencing market. The lineup creates three Floragenex service arms: Discovery, Genotyping and Analytics, each addressing major customer needs in genomics research.
Under the new arrangement, Floragenex Discovery will provide expertise in SNP marker development, Genotyping will support clients interested in genotyping solutions using next-gen DNA sequencing while Analytics will develop low-cost bioinformatics tools.
The highlights of the rollout include a new value-priced product in Floragenex’s Genotyping service offering and optional signup for beta testing of the company’s cloud-based bioinformatics infrastructure.
“The new service lineup will help us dramatically serve our customers better in the future. Over the past five years, genotyping studies employing next-gen DNA sequence data have become increasingly commonplace in scientific literature. Floragenex RAD technology was an early entry to the genotyping by sequencing market in 2008 and many of our clients, already familiar with RAD data, are well-positioned to take advantage of the value genotyping offer,” said Floragenex President Rick Nipper.
Value RAD genotyping packages will start at $79 USD per sample and provide clients with RAD sequence data generated on the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform. Customers interested in a greater degree of support, planning and customization will still remain able to take advantage of Floragenex Premium services.
