Nunhems announced today a new, innovative seed treatment package for U.S. onion growers that will help them reduce the risk of early season disease, giving seedlings a healthier start.
Dubbed “The Complete Package,” this proprietary treatment package combines the well-known effectiveness of Bayer CropScience’s Thiram and Allegiance® along with Coronet®, a newly introduced BASF product available exclusively on onions through Nunhems.
“This package truly represents the latest in seed technology,” said Nunhems Onion Crop Sales Manager John Erb. “We’re pleased to offer our customers a treatment option that can have such a significant impact on their yields and their bottom line.”
Working together, the combination of Thiram, Allegiance and Coronet provides superior disease control that will protect seeds, roots and emerging plants from infection by Pythium spp., and will reduce losses from damping-off and seedling blights caused by seed borne and soil borne fungi. The Total Package’s overall effectiveness is due to each fungicide’s individual attributes:
- Thiram is a broad-spectrum fungicide that helps reduce losses from damping-off and seedling blights often caused by seed borne and soil borne organisms.
- Allegiance provides systemic protection for the seed, roots and emerging plants against devastating diseases such as Pythium, systemic mildew and Phytophthora.
- Coronet: Coronet provides broad-spectrum control of various pathogens including seedborne Botrytis, Penicillium and Aspergillius.
