The tomato variety which is registered under the brand TomAzur, has been awarded as “The best tomato of the year” in a national competition organized by company Semillas Fitó, which was held recently in Barcelona, Spain.
The company Unica Group, from Almería, presented the TomAzur tomato variety in the contest 'The Tomato of the Year' in category Truss-red Tomato. TomAzur was chosen in a blind tasting by a panel of professionals led by Gemma Echeverría, specialist in sensory analysis and consumers researches in fruit and vegetable at IRTA. The jury also consisted of, among other national experts, Lluis Bosch, honorary professor at the UPC, and Joan Ras, president of the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy.
Under TomAzur, guarantee brand of Enza Zaden, there is the original tomato flavor, with a very intense red in a very attractive truss presentation, and a package that distinguishes it from the rest.
