INRA's Mycology and Food Safety research unit is organising the 12th European Fusarium Seminar to be held in Bordeaux May 12-16, 2013. The conference brings together researchers, breeders, industry representatives, and policy makers concerned by Fusarium diseases and the reduction of mycotoxins in cereals. It provides an international forum to address the current state of the art in Fusarium biology and crop resistance breeding.
After more than 25 years of intensive research on Fusarium diseases and breeding for resistance, the meeting will be an opportunity to discuss solutions to future challenges. Speakers from Australia, Austria, the USA, Canada, Belgium, Italy, France, and other countries will cover the genetics, genomics and systems biology of Fusaria, the biochemistry, biosynthesis, and feed and food safety associated with secondary metabolites, pathogenesis, epidemiology and population genetics, the genetics of host-plant resistance to Fusarium and variety development, disease control and forecasting models, as well as the future challenges faced in Europe and worldwide.
