Organic Farming Research Foundation proposal deadline nears
Santa Cruz, California, USA
September 29, 2009
The Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) will accept organic research and educational proposals through Monday, November 16, 2009. OFRF has awarded 290 grants totaling more than $2.3 million in support of organic farming research and education projects since 1990.
OFRF funds research projects that address production challenges in organic systems. Farmer/rancher participation, a systems approach, and relevance to other organic farmers are high priorities for the OFRF board when selecting research projects. Educational projects should be directed toward developing educational opportunities or materials for organic and/or transitioning farmers and ranchers.
For more information on applying for a grant, refer to OFRF’s Requests for Applications online at apply to OFRF. For additional questions, contact OFRF Organic Research Specialist Jane Sooby by e-mail at jane@ofrf.org, or by phone (831) 426-6606.
The Organic Farming Research Foundation was founded in 1990 to foster the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems. OFRF sponsors organic farming research and education projects, disseminates the results to organic farmers and to growers interested in adopting organic production systems, and educates the public and policymakers about organic farming issues. The majority of OFRF’s board members are working organic farmers.
