The Royal Barenbrug Group and RAGT Semences have reached a global agreement on turf activities. Under the agreement, Barenbrug will obtain worldwide access to RAGT’s turf grass varieties, with the exception of the French market. As part of the agreement both companies have agreed to develop their collaboration in breeding, variety testing and seed coating.
“This deal provides us with a great opportunity for further strengthening our worldwide position in turf grasses through the addition of RAGT varieties to our own portfolio,” said Bastiaan Barenbrug, Chairman of the Board of the Royal Barenbrug Group. “This will enable us to offer an even broader range of different varieties to our customers.”
Claude Grand, Managing Director of RAGT Semences, commented: “This partnership, which is fully in line with our refocused strategy with respect to turf, will widen our research expertise, allow us to diversify and maximize its valorization while reinforcing our strong position in the French professional market”.
The financial details of this transaction were not disclosed.

Accord stratégique dans le domaine des gazons entre le Groupe Barenbrug et RAGT Semences
Le Groupe Barenbrug et RAGT Semences ont finalisé un accord global concernant les activités gazons. Dans ce cadre, Barenbrug va bénéficier d’un accès mondial aux variétés de gazons de RAGT, à l’exception du marché français. Les deux sociétés ont également décidé de développer leur collaboration dans les domaines de la sélection, de l’expérimentation des variétés et de l’enrobage des semences.
