Seed industry veterans Biense Visser and Gabi Unger join advisory board of trait delivery innovator Morflora

Morflora, focused on innovative non-transgenic, non-heritable, trait delivery technology for plant protection and enhancement, announced today that Biense Visser and Gabi Unger have joined the company’s Advisory Board.

Dotan Peleg, Morflora’s CEO commented, "Morflora adapted its innovative trait delivery technology to the market by developing a revolutionary yet simple treatment which makes it applicable to seeds. This effort was successfully stirred by the scientists in our advisory board, Prof. Haim Rabinowitch and Prof. Ilan Sela. As the technology matures and as we tap into the market, we have expanded our advisory board with industry veterans to advance our commercialization strategy.”

Currently Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of aap Implantate AG, Mr. Visser has rich executive experience in the agri-bio and pharmaceutical industries. In one of his prior positions Visser was the CEO of De Ruiter Seeds Group, Netherlands, a family-owned company which engages in breeding, producing, marketing, distributing, and selling vegetable seeds primarily in Europe. The company was successfully sold for 546M Euro, 15 times EBITDA to Monsanto. Mr. Visser also served as President of Teva Europe and member of the board of Teva Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TEVA). He holds an MBA at Business from Universiteit Nyenrode, Netherlands and a graduated from the faculty of Pharmacy at Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, Netherlands.

Also joining Morflora’s advisory board is Mr. Gabi Unger, a seasoned executive, bringing over 25 years experience in the Agriculture industry. In his recent position Mr. Unger served as the CEO of AB Seeds, and led the company through an acquisition with De Ruiter Seeds, which was later acquired by Monsanto. In former positions, Unger served as CEO for ‘Field Produce’, a leading exporter of dry fruit, and marketing manager of KOFFOLK, largest feed additives producer in Israel (a FIBRO Inc. Member). Mr. Unger earned his B.A in Agronomy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is an MBA graduate from the Tel Aviv College.
