Otsuka AgriTechno Co., Ltd, Japan and Gowan Company LLC, USA recently signed a memorandum for exclusive distribution of Otsuka’s product Acaritouch for Canada. The distribution agreement will be preceded by a period of evaluation and later registration in Canada to position the product according to market needs.
Acaritouch is a novel contact miticide, is environmentally friendly and used in Integrated Pest Management programs in registered countries. It also has mildewcidal properties.
The agreement is for all uses in Canada. This is the first such agreement between the two companies.
“Gowan Canada is excited to be involved in the Acaritouch project”, says Garth Render, Business Manager for Canada. “Acaritouch is a new tool for mite control in a wide range of crops from Orchard and Vine to Green House Vegetable and Ornamentals”. He adds “Acaritouch will be a welcome addition to Gowan Canada’s new line of green crop protection products”.

Otsuka AgriTechno Co., Ltd. is a newly established company which was divested from Otsuka Chemical Co., Ltd. on 28th September 2010 through a management buyout. Otsuka’s line of business is manufacturing and sales of agricultural chemicals and fertilizers.
