Pöttinger produces HITs hot off the line

Greiskirchen, Austria
April 4, 2012

Pöttinger presented a wide range of new machines for the 2012 season at Agritechnica in Hannover. One of the highlights is a new addition to Pöttinger's tedder product range: the HIT 10.11 T. Series production of the new HIT giants started recently at the headquarters in Grieskirchen/Austria. A dedicated team of design engineers, product managers and manufacturing personnel were proud to present the new big tedder.

The cornerstones in developing the HIT 10.11 T - the new trailed 10-rotor tedder - were best ground tracking, lowest possible forage contamination, perfect distribution quality and increased comfort.

The new HIT 10.11 T is a trailed 10-rotor tedder with a universal drawbar for upper and lower linkage mounting with a rugged frame plus chassis. With ten rotors and working width of 10.6 metres, Pöttinger offers high performance combined with intelligent technology. The machine's chassis wheels remain on the ground while working, at the headland as well as during transport.

Safe road transport is possible at high travelling speeds thanks to this machine's perfect folding mechanism for compact transport (width and height both less than 3 m).

Liftmatic plus is a unique feature that raises the rotors into the headland position: a double cylinder moves the rotors into a horizontal position before raising them. This intelligent hydraulic control system prevents tines from contacting or penetrating the ground. The headland lifting system provides excellent ground clearance, which makes the tedder much more manoeuvrable.

Pöttinger has revolutionised rotor units and mounting booms. The bolted frame design with large cross-section tube frame is responsible for the highest stability. Additional stability is ensured by the new guard design which is now a weight-bearing element. Sealed-lubricated single and double universal joints transfer power without play for extremely smooth running of the rotor transmissions.

With the new HIT 10.11 T Pöttinger has launched a tedder that has numerous impressive details and is designed to meet farmers' high expectations.
