Beck’s Hybrids is pleased to announce that construction on additional bulk seed storage at the Atlanta, Indiana headquarters will begin February 2012. The project will allow Beck’s to increase bulk seed storage capacity by 35 percent and maximize current seed corn drying capacity. Bulk storage capacity is utilized prior to the cleaning and packaging of the seed.

With an expected completion date of September 2012, Beck’s will be able to more efficiently process more units of corn each day. In addition to increasing the bulk seed storage capacity, 60,000 sq. ft. of additional warehousing is being added to store seed after it has been cleaned and packaged. Half of this warehouse space is climate-controlled cold storage, which ensures that seed quality is maintained during seasonal temperature changes.

The new state-of-the-art bulk seed storage facility and additional cold storage warehouse are examples of ways we go above and beyond to ensure the quality of our seed.”

For the past 20 years, Beck’s Hybrids has experienced significant growth of 20 percent per year. Beck’s continued growth in new areas is driven by the increasing demands of more and more new customers who want high-performing products developed for their acres.

The new seed storage facilities are part of the $24.5 million investment plan announced in the spring of 2011 when Beck’s committed to investing in new research, production, processing and logistics operations over the next five years.
