U.S. National Sunflower Association announces research grants

U.S. National Sunflower Association board members granted $250,000 in research grants distributed over ten states covering literally all aspects of production.
An additional $80,000 was awarded to sunflower researchers from the ND Harmonization Board and additional funds are expected from the Sclerotinia Initiative.
Much of the work relates to insect and disease resistance with testing in multiple locations.
There are two studies on nitrogen management and use and three studies related to managing irrigation water use.
All of the awarded research grants will be posted on the NSA website: www.sunflowernsa.com.
