Promising herbicide for sunflower

USA
October 24, 2011

Source: Sunflower Highlights, Sunflower Seed Association

Kumai America has agreed to support an IR-4 registration of Pyroxasulfone on sunflower.

The National Sunflower Association and its State University partners in all of the production states have been testing this herbicide known as KIH-485 for a number of years.

The research results have been very promising as a sunflower herbicide.

Plans are to conduct residue trials in the summer of 2012.

Several crop protection companies have marketing agreements with Kumai on this herbicide.

More discussion of how this product can fit in sunflower weed control will take place at the annual NSA Research Forum in January 2012.
