The Biopesticide Industry Alliance in cooperation with Meister Media hosted a
60-minute webinar titled “The Value of Biopesticides. Effective. Safe. Smart” on September 22, 2011. Over 640 people signed up for the webinar, setting a record for highest number of
registrants for this type of event.

Presenters were top industry experts, including Dr. Pam Marrone, CEO of Marrone Bio
Innovations and founding Chair of the Biopesticide Industry Alliance. Other distinguished
presenters included Diana Horne, Sr. Biologist at U.S.E.P.A., and David Holden of Holden
Research and Consulting.

Viewers learned what biopesticides are, and why the biopesticide industry is undergoing rapid growth. The need to feed an ever-growing global population combined with increasing demand for sustainable agricultural practices has fueled a significant rise in demand for biopesticides.

Regulatory changes, consumer demand for low residues and the need for even more productive farming practices are inescapable market forces. Biopesticides offer solutions in all of these areas.
