Staphyt's seed business: a very promising autumn season

France
October 3, 2011

Summer harvests are now completed. The huge effort of our team allowed us to complete all trial harvests with a high level of quality despite the great difficulties related to climatic vagaries. More than 60,000 cereal and oil seed rape micro-plots have been harvested under “good” conditions.

Both equipment and skills allow significant development of the STAPHYT seed activity.

The volume of trials we now manage represents an additional workload that we are able to take on from this autumn, thanks to our investment in a new INOTEC sowing machine. We have 9 complete sets of equipment for cereal and oil seed rape drilling –and 18 combine harvesters- which allows a significant increase of our capacities within the STAPHYT European network (Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, France, England and Belgium).

Maize silage harvest has already started: this year we also have a fourth complete set of equipment for silage. We are able to ensure high quality services for the 120 locations split over Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Czech Republic. To run such a large trial program successfully, we have also made the best use of our harvest sample logistics management (with a new laboratory in North of France (Inchy-en-Artois)) as well as sample analysis (NIRS laboratory in Germany (Blaufelden)). Our aim is to be able to send each customer all trial results within 10 days after the trial harvest.
