Using aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and satellite imagery, Agroview provides detailed insights including per-plant tree count, gap count, height, canopy area, leaf density and full-field nutrient analysis. The peer-reviewed system achieves less than 5% error in tree crop inventories and currently supports 30.5% of the U.S. tree crop insurance market.
Earlier this year, Agriculture Intelligence was selected to present its USDA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funded artificial intelligence infrastructure at the 2026 Florida Venture Forum Annual Conference. The recognition provided another opportunity to showcase how federally supported research and development can move beyond the research stage and into practical agricultural applications.
Administered by USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), the USDA SBIR program provides competitively awarded funding to qualified small businesses conducting research addressing important scientific challenges and opportunities in agriculture. The program is designed to stimulate technological innovation while supporting research with the potential for commercial application and public benefit.
“USDA’s SBIR program helps small businesses move promising ideas toward practical solutions that can address real challenges facing American agriculture,” said Dr. Keith Harris, division director of USDA NIFA’s Division of Bioenergy. “Investments in agricultural research and innovation can create opportunities to strengthen productivity, support producers and move new technologies closer to the marketplace.”
For Agriculture Intelligence, that progression from research to application can be seen in Agroview. Central to the platform is Agrozoom, the company’s proprietary 4× super-resolution technology, which converts aircraft imagery into drone-equivalent clarity. The technology enables high-resolution agricultural intelligence to be delivered at field scale without relying solely on drone-based data collection.
Rather than developing hardware, Agriculture Intelligence has built its technology as cloud-based infrastructure. The company combines a software-as-a-service model with multi-year insurer contracts and expanding grower subscriptions. The same infrastructure is also being used to meet increasing institutional demand from associations and public-sector programs.
