Syngenta issues the 15th edition of Syngenta Peppers Today, the newsletter for the world of peppers, with a focus on APAC region
The 15th edition of Syngenta Peppers Today Newsletter provides a pepper approach the APAC region. India, China, South Korea and Indonesia are the leading chilli pepper producers and “Syngenta Seeds is active in these areas” explains the writer of our Editorial Mr. Aru Sinha, S&G Product Business Manager for Peppers for the APAC region.
Syngenta Peppers Today Newsletter is available in digital format at the website for professionals on the pepper business Syngenta Peppers Today that appears every two months in HTML format and has recently been re-launched with a new image.
The 15th edition of Syngenta Peppers Today focuses on:
  • The largest pepper producer in the world: China produced 14 million tonnes of peppers in 2007. This report offers official figures on bell and chilli pepper production, exports and imports in the APAC country.
  • Dry chili pepper overview: India accounted for 32% of the world’s dry chilli and peppers production in 2007 while Pakistan contributed by 5,5% of total production in the world. Mr. Aru Sinha, S&G Product Business Manager for peppers for the APAC region, makes an overview about dry chilli and pepper in the two countries.
  • Hot pepper exporter in India: Interview with Mr. Umesh Betageri, Managing Director of “Sri Venkateshwar Spices” in India, a company which grows the Byadagi hot pepper variety in the second largest hot pepper market in the world: Byadagi.
  • Interview with Mr. Ashok Jedhe, Product Manager for Tomato & Pellated Roshni Seeds India at Syngenta Seeds: the Indian market must respond to the challenges and opportunities offered by the global market, and in this respect the Syngenta Pellated Roshni project can improve cotton and soybean growers’ profitability and increase their income.
