Bruyninckx ltd. and Intellicrops ltd announce the launch of a new sea vegetable: sea kale sprouts. Sea kale sprouts are the result of the forcing of sea kale roots. The fresh cream-coloured sprouts of 8 inch long are characterised by a soft kale taste that gives a special touch to fish or lamb plates.

Sea kale is a salty crop originating from the pebble beaches of Western-Europe. It’s an old crop that almost is lost because of the intensive character of its cultivation. Recently open soil cultivated sea kale has been introduced in the UK, the Netherlands, France. Intellicrops brought earlier this year sea kale on the market.

Seakale sprouts are the result of an intensive collaboration between Intellicrops ltd and Bruyninckx ltd. Bruyninckx ltd is known from the mini-Brussels endives and has mastered the art of forcing vegetables.
