GrainSense, in collaboration with BoMill, is thrilled to announce the receipt of EU funding for the Eurostars project aimed at developing a cutting-edge high-precision grain sorting system. This innovative project is set to revolutionize the grain industry by enhancing sorting accuracy and efficiency.
The Eurostars project will focus on developing a system that can sort grains with unparalleled accuracy, identifying and separating grains based on critical parameters. This will not only enhance product quality but also increase profitability for grain producers.
Eurostars is part of the European Partnership for Innovative SMEs with support from the European Union through Horizon Europe. The project has a budget of approximately EUR 1.45 million and will run for 18 months. It is funded to approximately 50% by grants from Vinnova and Business Finland.
"We are excited to partner with BoMill on this groundbreaking project," said Riku Niemelä, CEO of GrainSense. "The EU funding will enable us to push the boundaries of grain sorting technology, ensuring higher precision and better outcomes for the entire grain supply chain."
BoMill, a leader in grain sorting technology, brings extensive expertise and innovative solutions to the project. Together, GrainSense and BoMill aim to set new standards in the industry, promoting sustainability and efficiency.
“We are keen to start our collaboration with GrainSense on this project. Our combined efforts will pave the way for a new era in grain sorting, benefiting our existing and future customers, commented Andreas Jeppsson, CEO of BoMill.
Simplifying Integration, Elevating Performance
“In addition to its numerous other use cases, GrainSense technology offers an innovative solution to enhance the performance of grain sorters and tools. Providing industrial protocols for B2B customers, such as machine builders, integrators, and OEMs, is essential for the successful integration of new technological solutions into existing systems across various industries. This project aims to develop interfaces for easy adaptation, among other objectives, enabling our customers to create products that will transform the grain sorting applications available in the market," says Ano Rutanen, GrainSense CRDO.
About GrainSense
GrainSense offers an innovative grain analysis solution featuring its patented NIR sensor. This sensor transforms traditional, bulky Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy equipment into a compact, affordable format, significantly reducing costs compared to conventional equipment. The GrainSense solution is tailored for industrial, trading, research, and farming customers, providing instant grain quality analysis. GrainSense technology quickly measures protein, moisture, oil, and carbohydrate contents from just a few kernels or flowing grain without stopping the grain flow.
About BoMill
BoMill has developed and markets a patented technology for sorting grain on a commercial scale, based on the internal qualities of each kernel. The method is the only one of its kind on the market today and is estimated to have the potential to become a Golden Standard within the industry.
