Would you like to submit a tomato or pepper samples for DUS testing, maintenance control, trial field testing, authorization, or resistance testing? Then send a plant passport / phytosanitary certificate as a guarantee that the material is free of ToBRFV.
ToBRFV has RNQP status from 1 January
As of 1 January 2025, ToBRFV has the status of RNQP (Regulated Non-Quarantine Pest). See the NVWA announcement (in Dutch) for more details: Veranderingen in eisen en toezicht in verband met RNQP-status ToBRFV
According to EU regulations, seeds not intended for commercial trade do not need to meet RNQP requirements and do not require a plant passport. This exception strictly applies to seeds intended for DUS testing, maintenance control, trial field testing, authorization, or resistance testing. Strictly speaking, this material does not yet need to meet RNQP requirements.
We take no risks
At Naktuinbouw, however, we do not want to take any risks. We want to ensure that the material included in our trials is free from ToBRFV. Additionally, we do not want to create extra work for seed companies.
Please include a plant passport/phytosanitary certificate with your tomato and pepper samples
By including a plant passport with your samples, Naktuinbouw can guarantee that the material is free from ToBRFV. For imported seeds from non-EU countries, we accept the accompanying phytosanitary certificate along with the sample.
In the absence of a plant passport / phytosanitary certificate, we request a declaration, preferably by mentioning or imprinting on the seed package
If no plant passport / phytosanitary certificate is available for the tomato and pepper samples you submit, please declare that the sample is tested and free from ToBRFV by mentioning or imprinting this on the seed package.
This additional requirement from Naktuinbouw now applies to all tomato and pepper samples for DUS testing, maintenance control, trial field testing, authorization, or resistance testing.

Plantenpaspoort / fytosanitair certificaat gevraagd voor insturen monsters tomaat en paprika
Wilt u een tomaten- of paprikamonster insturen voor DUS-onderzoek, instandhoudingscontrole, proeftuinonderzoek, autorisatie of resistentietoets? Stuur dan een plantenpaspoort of fytosanitair certificaat mee als garantie dat het materiaal vrij is van ToBRFV.
ToBRFV heeft vanaf 1 januari RNQP-status
Vanaf 1 januari 2025 heeft ToBRFV de status van RNQP (Regulated Non-Quarantine Pest). Lees meer hierover in het bericht Veranderingen in eisen en toezicht in verband met RNQP-status ToBRFV.
Volgens de EU-regelgeving hoeft zaad dat niet in het handelsverkeer is, nog niet te voldoen aan de RNQP-eisen. Ook hoeft het geen plantenpaspoort te hebben. Omdat zaad voor onderzoek niet in het handelsverkeer is, geldt deze uitzondering strikt genomen ook voor zaad dat bestemd is voor DUS-onderzoek, instandhoudingscontrole, proeftuinonderzoek, autorisatie of resistentietoets. Dat materiaal hoeft nog niet aan de RNQP-eisen te voldoen.
Wij willen geen enkel risico nemen
Bij Naktuinbouw willen we echter geen enkel risico nemen. We willen zeker weten dat het materiaal dat in onze proeven wordt opgenomen, vrij is van ToBRFV. Daarnaast willen we geen extra werk voor de bedrijven veroorzaken.
Stuurt u een plantenpaspoort / fytosanitair certificaat mee met uw monsters tomaat en paprika?
Dan heeft Naktuinbouw daarmee de garantie dat het materiaal vrij is van ToBRFV. Voor geïmporteerd zaad vanuit landen buiten de EU accepteren we het fytosanitair certificaat bij de tomaten- en paprikamonsters.
Bij het ontbreken van een plantenpaspoort / fytosanitair certificaat vragen we om een verklaring bij voorkeur door vermelding of opdruk op het monsterzakje
Is er geen plantenpaspoort / fytosanitair certificaat beschikbaar van de monsters tomaat en paprika die u opstuurt? Dan vragen we u door vermelding of opdruk op het monsterzakje te verklaren dat het monster getoetst is op en vrij is van ToBRFV.
Deze aanvullende eis vanuit Naktuinbouw is vanaf nu van toepassing op alle monsters tomaat en paprika voor DUS-onderzoek, instandhoudingscontrole, proeftuinonderzoek, autorisatie of resistentietoets.
