Illinois Crop Improvement Association, Inc. (IL Crop), a third-party seed service provider, embraced the goals of the Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) organization by becoming the first service provider to be accepted as a regular member in the spring of 2009.
BQMS and ETS have recently negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding that harmonized the BQMS Audit Standard with the ETS Audit Checklist from Module 3 -- Confined Field Trials -- of the Maintaining Plant Product Integrity component.
IL Crop developed and implemented a quality management system in the fall of 2009. After operating the quality management system for nearly one year, IL Crop successfully completed the Excellence Through Stewardship® audit process.
Plant breeders and seed companies can be assured that IL Crop is committed to the ETS goal of Advancing Best Practices in Agricultural Biotechnology.
The scope of IL Crop’s new credential includes stewardship programs and quality management systems consistent with the Excellence Through Stewardship® initiative for: Stewardship; Maintaining Plant Product Integrity and Incident Response.
