GCIS Chile, SpA invests in Agro Technology, S.A. in Santiago, Chile

Santiago, Chile
February 15, 2011

GCIS Chile, SpA, a company owned by Gowan Comércio Internacional e Serviços, Limitada (GCIS) announces the acquisition of a majority share in Agro Technology, S.A. (AGT) located in Santiago, Chile. The investment brings together two respected companies in the agricultural market and will help to expand GCIS’s presence in the South American crop protection markets.

“Chile is a sophisticated market with high agricultural standards, recognized worldwide as a leading country in fresh fruit production, and Gowan is excited to play an important role in providing crop protection solutions to Chile’s growers. Gowan’s vision is to bring technology to support the new challenges the fruit, vine and vegetables export and domestic industry will face,” says Sergio Comparini, Business Development Manager for Gowan Company.

AGT is known for providing its customers with products and solutions to meet their needs. AGT’s support of IPM programs aligns perfectly with GCIS’s goal of bringing a bio-pesticide and chemical approach to Chile and other South American countries for fruit and vegetable crops. The existing management at AGT will continue operating AGT and serving its customers in Chile.
