Registration now open for ISTA Workshop on Insect Detection in Seed Testing, January 29-31 in Angers, France

This workshop aims to provide information on insect detection in seed lots and to enable participants to practice the different methods that can be used. During the theoretical presentations and training sessions, participants will gain an insight into the potential and limitations of using these methods in seed testing. Some information on how to identify insects will also be presented. The workshop will also encourage general discussion and feedback on this increasing issue.
Preliminary programme:
Monday Welcome reception from 6 pm.
Tuesday SNES visit (optional) and Seminar. This part will include presentations on insect taxonomy, on technologies and hands on experiences.
Wednesday Demonstration of different methods on two seed/insect models (Bruchus spp./lentils and Sitophilus granarius/wheat) and round table discussion on the needs, advantages and disadvantages of the methods and their applicability between the participants, the experts on the methods and the experts on the insects.
*The language will be English – no translation.
